    How Are Posterior Tooth Implants Performed?

    1. Examination and Consultation

    The examination helps the dentist assess the overall condition of the jawbone and the patient’s health to determine who can receive an immediate implant and who may need to wait for a more suitable time.

    2. X-ray of the Jawbone

    This step involves taking X-rays to understand the structure and density of the patient’s jawbone. Based on this information, the dentist will develop an appropriate implant treatment plan and identify any necessary supportive procedures to ensure a smooth implant placement.

    3. Implant Placement Procedure

    The implant will be placed in a sterile surgical room. The dentist will administer local anesthesia to the implant site to ensure the patient’s comfort. A small incision will be made in the gum at the site of the missing tooth, and an implant post will be inserted. The process of placing one implant into the jawbone usually takes about 20 minutes. In some cases, additional supportive procedures such as bone grafting or sinus lifting may be required.

    4. Temporary Restoration

    While waiting for the implant to integrate with the jawbone, the dentist will provide a temporary removable denture to allow the patient to eat and communicate effectively.

    5. Follow-Up After Implant Placement

    About a week after the procedure, the gum tissue around the implant will begin to heal. The patient will return to the dentist for suture removal and imaging to check the integration of the implant with the jawbone.

    6. Permanent Porcelain Crown Placement on the Implant

    Once the implant is stable within the jawbone, the dentist will proceed to place a permanent porcelain crown on the implant. The crown will fit snugly, providing both aesthetic appeal and proper chewing function for the molar.

    After bone grafting or sinus lift, the customer should limit intense physical activity and prioritize soft foods, as well as follow up according to the doctor’s scheduled appointments.

    After placing the ceramic crown, the customer should maintain the habit of brushing their teeth at least twice a day, along with using a water flosser or dental floss to keep the mouth clean.
